Hey guys, I just got a bunch of verbatim dvdr disk from buy.com . Heres my prob. I have an A03 firm1.90, these disk keep giving me error code from prassi primo dvd when trying to burn a movie. But only with these disc. it burns to a verbatim dvdrw, a princo, a optodisc, and a dvdpro. But not to the verbatim.

heres the error code.

ERROR 10 AT SECTOR 4496 ,COMMAND 2A, SENSE FF, ASC 02, ASCQ 04.

Its just really odd to get this many bad disc, tried five so far with all the same errors.

It was the 10 pack of 2x disc for 29.99.

I know it's going to sound weird, but I got that error message (Error 10 Sector xxx) when I was running UDMA instead of PIO, and it only came up on 2x media (not my 1x Primedisc/Riteks). I had to switch to PIO mode to resolve it.

Is this the first set of 2x media you are trying? In other words, have you been burning at 1x until now? If so, it could be the UDMA/PIO issue.

Well I was in udma mode, but still doing the same thing this morning even in pio mode. Will be calling verbatim tech support in a few minutes, maybe they will have a clue.

heres the advdinfo for the disc.

Verbatim DataLifePLus DVD-R 4.7GB (Data Storage version 2.0)

For 2.99 or less I thought they would be a good deal. Its got to be something I am doing. I cant see how a whole bunch could be bad.

Actually it could just be a bad batch (or run) of discs. It happens.

Have you changed anything on your system or upgraded the flash recently?

I just got off the phone with verbatim technical support. He said that there is a problem with some disc, because of the support for the new sony recorders that do dvdr and dvd+R, He said that its in the code that makes it compatable with the sony, but some are in-compatable with pioneer. Anyway they are replacing the entire bunch.

Very nice to deal with! If I get them working I think I will stick with verbatims.

Thanks padre.

Nice to know it wasn't me, for once .
