Hello everybody I’m wondering is there anybody who did some tests with the Mode2Real Plugin >>
http://webs.ono.com/usr016/de_xt/

(This Plugin is supposed to make any mode2 Cds containing RealVideo streams readable by the ReaOne9 Player) I did exactly as suggested by the author and copied the Plugin into Program Files\Common Files\Real\plugins folder, and then installed the DirectShow
RIFF/CDXA filter although is not required (I think)
But the RealOne Player just refuses to play back any of may Mode2 Cds (I’m getting Unknown File Format Error”) The Plugin Seems To bee in use by the real player but nothing happens though
I’ve tested this Plugin on 3 different Computers, OSs,with same Results

Any kind of help would be very much appreciated!

XPSP1,ATHLON-XP1800,GEFORCE2-MX440,LG-DVD8160B,CDRW-TEAC-512E,256RAM

X] sweet! I'll be testing this right away :]
a big drawback to Real was the fact that it wasn't xcd compatible, so this is really cool :]

oh haha.. for awhile I thought the site was down but your link was http://http://webs.ono.com/usr016/de_xt/ whereas it should have been just http://webs.ono.com/usr016/de_xt/ ;P
anyway, winXP, 1 ghz athlon processor, 384 MB of pc133 ram, Pioneer DVD-ROM dvd-116R and Sony CD-RW crx160e

well heres one problem, the plugin won't read .dat files. A message about the file not being an mpeg file comes up and it refuses to play :/
I'm in the process of copying to daemon so I can rename the files to .rmvb and see if that works

whoops! didnt put the plugin in the Real directory, that could be the problem
K uh.. now everything is set up right and when I try to open the file realone chokes and dies :/ gives an error and has to shut down

Hmm... what a bummer:(

I’m sending an email to the author right now
Hopefully we’ll get a feedback from him shortly

I'd suggest you to follow the original post by wonderbread and try to compile your own plugin. Perhaps this one is fixed to a single RealPlayer version...
