How to play
1.
open divx - project mayo
2.
divx with 5.1 ac3 ?
I ahve already installed BSplayer and Windows Media Player, of course, WinXP.
My installed Codec is DivX 5.
Until now no probs.
1.
But now I have a divx, which is not played (palyer tell: unknown codec or so).
GSpot tells me, too:
codec not installed, codec is open divx project mayo.
Which of these codecs should I install from project mayo ?
OpenDivX For Windows
This is the OpenDivX core code created for the windows platform. Many people are currently using this code as a starting point for creating their own codec as well as for educational purposes. We hope that we've provided a good Mpeg-4 reference implementation for others to start from.

Should I install only the direct show source, or open divx install file or what ?
Does it give no problems, if divx 5 and open divx are installed ?

Then I have a divx with 5.1 ac3, 448 kbit/s.
The video is played, but without sound.
Which player, filters ? do I need ?
I would like 2 possibilities:
1. The softwareplayer on PC should downmix the 5.1 ac3 to stereo PCM.
2. the original 5.1 ac3 stream should be passed through to my soundcard Terratec ewx 2496, which could give the ac3 digitally to my receiver, which could decode the 5.1 ac3 and I could enjoy the full surround on my hifi system.
