I need your help - Converting/authoring/mpeg+ac3

I have a brand new PC with DVD+RW and P4 2.53Ghz processor.

I have used Smartripper to copy the ifo and vob files to my hard drive.

I want to get the best quality DVD rips. I have read the guides on VCD, SVCD and DIVX. Im still confussed :confused:

I have had a few trial runs converting vobs using DVD2SVCD. These leave you with an MPEG and AC3 Stream (that together total 4.5gb. I cannot seem to find any software that will:

A) Let you burn these directly to A DVD
B) recognise the two formats and merge them for use with Nero 5.5 or MYDVD.

1) What is the best format to convert my DVD rips into? (to get best quality)
2) What software should I use?
3) For burning purposes is it Nero 5.5 compatible?

Hy, if you just want to put together the mpeg and Ac3 file, you can use Spruceup ( Dvd authoring tool ). You can however try the full dvd copy http://www.doom9.org/mpg/maestro2.htm .;)
