Hi
I have a DLT to work with maestro
I like to know if i can write more than one movie on tape .
Does maestro only write one and overwrite every time we write to the same tape ? or does maestro append to the end of the tape like regular backup software.

Thank you

I don't know of many users here that work with the DLT option. You would probably get a faster and more accurate response if you were to contact Spruce technical support HERE. (http://www.spruce-tech.com/)

im pretty sure that Maestro only writes one project to a tape, (i usually erase the tape in ntbackup before writing again anyway) if you want to put more than one project on a tape, then create the disc image, then use ntbackup or other tape backup software to write the images as if they were files, not a dvd image. you will have to have 1 project per tape for duplication however, and most plants require you to have a separate tape per layer too. but for just backup purposes (ie, the DLT4000 can fit 40gb compressed on a DLTtape IV media) it would very well.
