I always keep the original Dolby Digital 5.1 track on all my DVD's (384k or 448k stream), but for some titles I would like to downsample the additional audio streams.
For example, look at Kung Pow! (if you dare, most people are nauseated by the film). It has the following streams:
[0x80] English 5.1 448kbps
[0x81] French 2.0 192kbps
[0x82] Spanish 2.0 192kbps
[0x83] English 2.0 192kbps
[0x84] English 2.0 alternate audio 192kbps
[0x85] English 2.0 commentary 192kbps
Maybe Kung Pow isn't actually the best example, because it's only 81 min, and you can fit all the streams on a DVD-R if you cut out the menus and other features. Anyway, what would be the best method if I wanted to take some of the additional tracks and downsample them to 128 or 96kbps? HeadAC3he is supposed to do a good job with surround-encoded streams. Would that be the best thing?
I don't think I'll have a problem adding the stream into Maestro, so maybe I've given too much information here. I just want some opinions on the best thing to use for the downsampling.
