Best divx and or avi player ???

In your opinion what's the best playback software for divx.

What do you want?

A player that can be used (INI file needed of course) for DVD like watching of your AVIs? MicroDVD

A player that has a very neat UI and has even things like RT filters? Sasami2k

A player that is fast, quite Ok, and reliable? MS Mediaplayer 6.4 (mplayer2.exe on those new systems).

A player that deletes your anti-spyware program? Then I would go for the Radlight player.

A player that is absolutely bloatware? Any MS Mediaplayer after 6.4 .

I always use Mediaplayer 6.4 because it's quick and easy, but I also install BSPlayer which is better for dual audio streams and offers a lot of other options.

gabest's mpc is also a very nice rework from original media player. Sasami2K has a nice menu-fading feature which I like a lot, plus hips of other features. for now, i stick with these three players. and, oh, almost forget, out of these three, zoomplayer is the only one that can display my video perfectly on tv.

very small exe file, you can burn with your data
easy to zoom to fullscreen or more
ability to change aspect ratio

it does the job

i used to like bsplayer....but its a bit behind the times now!

I prefer BSPlayer. I've tried Zoom Player, but rejected it for two main reasons.

1) There are so many settings that it's almost impossible to find the more important ones you're really looking for.

2) I don't like its interface. To mention just one thing, you can't pause the movie just by pressing on it (perhaps this can be changed among those hundreds of options).

BSPlayer may cause problems some times, but when it works it's really great.

I too use to use bsplayer but now I made the switch to zoomplayer. I really like zoomplayer! sometimes, if I'm lazy or just in a weird mood, I may just use wmp 6.4

Just like iago,

ZoomPlayer, MPC, and BSPlayer all of them are installed on my machine.

I'm still waiting for the next release of CoreCodec's Media Player.

I think, there is no alternative for Zoom player for the owners of ATI rage 128 Pro video cards. ATI chips 128 Pro and higher support gamma correction on the hardware level. But only with the newest drivers for Radeon it is possible to adjust gamma using overlay settings. SVCD graph (included) contain Overlay mixer which gives the possibility of gamma adjusting. It is very useful for TV Out especially. It is possible to build own graphs for media sources and for DVD, therefore i use Zoom player for DVD also (gamma correction again). Zoom player is complex, but it is great.

Hi there, just try out two new players:
1. MV2 Player - very advanced player, two simultaneous subtitles, nice TV-out support, it's the most serious competitor to ZP at the moment (if not better).
1. Light Alloy - also very nice player with SNAP TO KEYFRAMES ! seek functionality, use .avi and seek it fast like .ogg
It's incredibly nice function !
