hi ,

I capture from powerVCR II 3.0 and can go up to resolution ofupto 720X480 , using inbuilt profile inpowervcr to capture using VCD,MPEG-2 good profile , i captured some videos , than i bunred using svcd option in nero , but still the video wasn't very clear.

I used tmpgenc to convert it perfectly to svcd format ,so that nero just burns it , but still the video is not so clear.

the video captured at 720X480 is clear on COMPUTER thatis without conversion to svcd/vcd .

so my question , wat res. should i capture at and either mpeg1/mpeg2 , and then how to burn em on cd , to get clear resolutins.coz svcd/vcd is resized at 480X480 /320X240 , anyway to preserve reso and check it on vcd/dvd players /?

capture using DVD-Profile (MPEG2, 720x480, 6-8 Mbit/s).
Encodeing with SVCD profile, depending on source you should try to use filter for deinterlacing and denoising to get better resaults.
Some times you must unlock the standard profile and set the max. bitrate to 3500kbps(VBR) to create a xSVCD. That's all depending on the source material.

keep calm, man! This is discuss forum, not the GULF (where many us warships deploy)

It will be more appreciated if you make a constructive suggestion.
