View Full Version : Have encoded audio & video but DVD2SVCD stops before combining to cd image file

I am very much a newbie to DVD2SVCD. I have copied a couple of DVD's without any major problems but I have just found that the program stops during the latest conversion. I was using some fairly processor intensive programs while DVD2SVCD was running and it seems to have stopped during CCE conversion, so I ran CCE to finish creating an encoded video file and tried to recover, but it comes up "file not found". Is there any way to "merge" the 2 encoded items together? Because I can watch the movie or listen to the audio but don't know how to put them together.
I apologise for any rules broken, I am a forum virgin, and did look for this answer before posting but could not find it anywhere.

you need to post your log file so we know what files you are talking about...the file not found might be the .ifo file that dvd2svcd mistakenly deletes sometimes...also it is not recommended to run many other programs (especially cpu intensive apps) while encoding a movie.

Search Works:

Granted it was a little bit of a bitch for me to find the correct words, but it does work.
Just a hint if you searched "file not found" the way this search works is that the "not" says to look for posts with the word file, but "not" the word found. It took me awhile to figure that one out. So I removed the word "not" and added recover as another search word. So my search string ended up being "file AND found AND recover". A real pain so I can see why you didn't find it on a search.
In short you can use recover as long as you didn't delete anything.

Thanks for the link.
Who would have thought it was as simple as just unchecking "activate DVD Ripping"
It has started the whole CCE process again, which is what I kinda hoped to avoid, but at least I didn't have to start all over again.
Thanks

Yes, it looks like it was the IFO file, because once the program started working again, it asked for the DVD again, and the IFO file is now down the bottom of the page.

if this was intentional, then excuse my ignorance...
but i just want to let you know in case you come back wondering why your movie looks pixelated that you might want to mess around with the bitrate settings...1130 for average bitrate is worse than vcd standards...
however maybe you are just trying to fit a 90 minute movie on one cd?
my reason for posting this is because i don't accept anything below 1700, and i generally prefer at least 1800-2000, it all just depends on how good i want the movie.
1130 just sounds too low to me :)

Well, you can select the restart point...if the program thinks it has done something successfull already...

You got it in one Hoozdapimp, I was trying to squash an 83 minute movie (the one) on one disk, as much out of curiosity as anything else, I just watched it back with power DVD & it seems pretty clear, the pixelation is only a little noticeable when there isn't much movement, which aint often in this movie. I am hoping that it will not be noticable on the TV when I finally get my standalone DVD back from repairs (bloody kids). I figure either the lower resolution of the TV will hide any pixellation, or the larger screen will make it stand out. Will wait & see I guess. Can always back it up again if I have to.
I figure if you don't experement you don't learn.
Thanks for looking out for me though.
