Entering secret codes with Scenarist

How do you set up Scenarist to author a DVD like "T2 - Special Edition" where there was an Easter Egg hidden on the menu. As I remember you type in a date and it would unlock certain scenes.

I want to do the same on mine. Anybody have any idea?

It's just a sequence of menus. Press the right button and you advance to the next digit, or the prize. Press any wrong one and you go back to the beginning menu.

That's what I guessed - but how do you read the "numbers" entered? Is it SPRM?

menu buttons are numbered, pressing the according number on the remote selects (and i think activates) the coresponding number.

to achieve that effect, there would have to be a secret button for every consecutive menu to proceed to the next, but i found no button with powerdvd4. Could it be 1x1 pixel size somewhere? Also, you have to enter the numbers in ten seconds or you're brought back to the first one. How was that done?

Why would there need to be a secret button? Or are you saying that in this case a numeric keypad is not represented on screen for you to enter the code? In such a case the buttons (and you need 10 of them) would simply have transparent colors.

As for a time limit, that makes use of the navigation timer (SPRM 9 and 10)

Buttons can be marked as "auto-action" meaning that the button does not require "enter" after being selected. You also have to set up the buttons as numerical, that is not always automatic.

by 'secret' i meant that i couldn't find a transparent highlight area (button) with the pointer, but as i understand you don't need to drag a clickable area for the numerical keypad to work?

BTW i always used powerdvd 2.55 for all my dvd's, but the thing crashed on t2-ultimate (AND the keypad doesn't work), so for only that one i used cinemaster (also for the keypad -> ext. spec. ed.). Powerdvd 4 plays all and skips 'unskippable' intros as well when you have loaded the disk previously.

SPRM 9 and 10 - what values do they hold? How would I use them to check how long the menu has been up?

SPRM 9 is the navigation timer, and counts down in seconds. SPRM 10 contains the PGC number within the current title set that will play when the timer expires. Here's a list of all of them http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/DVD/sprm.html
