The xvid team is aware of that and not happy about it. The core developers are still thinking about it...

Thanks for the hint though,

Regards,
Koepi

geez sure you couldnt have replied faster ? :)

its good that the team know but i thought it would be a good idea if everyone else knew aswell. this sort of stuff is becoming ridiculously common.

Yes it is a sad state. But this cavalier attitude is at the heart of Microsoft and alot of related developers. It is really rare to find many good Windows opensource programs. But it is even rarer to find developers under Windows who respect opensource licences. -h, koepi, and the rest of the crew are real gems on this point. The seem to be rare seouls indeed.

that's a really bad move from them. But we all know what is the wrath of the XviD team. you guys should contact the FSF.

Calm down ... these guys are friendly coders that give a shit on Micro$oft!

I think itīs a great project and the X-Box with itīs hardware is perfectly suited for the living room.

micro@dee what we have here is a multi billion dollar corparation ripping off other peoples hard work. why should anyone calm down ? koepi, nic, -h etc arent programming to help MS make more money with its xbox. they sure arent seeing any sort of thank you (whether by money or by word).
a little respect for the hard work these (and other) programmers do for free should not be hard. yet it seems more and more companies just dont care.
