Hi,
I just check out DVX that was posted in the News section of doom9. I love the way the UI is setup. I was wondering if there is any chance you might borrow some of the ui ideas for DVD2SVCD. Another idea is to merge the two progect together so we have one tool that can do DVD to SVCD, VCD, DVD low resoltion, etc. What you think, DVD2SVCD?

maybe DVX will Support MPEG2 in the future, but since DVD Ripper seem not to be very impressed by my tool, I stick back to DVB, the origin of DVX. I launched today a DVB site with board and released DVX basic, a special version of DVX that is a lot easier than the normal version, personally I prefer the easy version :D, check out my new site here http://www.planetdvb.net

Reading this topic sparked my curiosity, I downloaded your software, and I'll see what I think of it... I'm not switching from my trusty DVD2SVCD though ;) Perhaps it will come in handy when backing up to DivX, we'll see...
Edit: Just got the .Net framework necessary for this app (that's a bit of a downside, most users don't want to make the extra 22mb download) and got it running. It does look like it could prove useful, but (absolutely no offense intended) the UI doesn't look/feel better than DVD2SVCD's. Both are tabbed, so I guess I don't understand what you prefer about DVX, Kenneth.

That's very true about the .NET framework requirement. Yes, both of them uses the Tab UI as their main metaphor. However, DVX UI is well thought out in terms of how the options and setting is organized using the Tab metaphor that is more logical and consistent to use and much eaiser to find and set options, etc.

Are you sure about that? I think you should support MPEG2 and I have faith you can do it. Peace. And if not, do you think you can work together with the author of DVD2SVCD? Hmmm...just a thought. Keep up the good work for both of you.

bevor .NET Delphi was cool, but since .NET will be the future of almost all software developing, C# is the way to go. Of course I know Delphi will also be a .NET language, but it will never be as popular than VB .NET and C# .NET. C# is without any doubt the best .NET language

I opened a topic in my DVB board for this, I will definitely focus on DVB, most DVD topics like special credits treatment go way to far for me

It's just a nuisance to users (especially those not on XP, which makes up the great majority) when they can't use an application because of something such as lacking ".NET Framework" - given that they even know what that means.
Though it would require some extra time on your part, I would distribute 2 versions of the software, identical, expect for their dependency on the .NET framework.. at least until XP and .NET become much more widespread.
