Sup everyone!
I want to find info. and knowledge on how to Mix & Encode Dolby Digital 5.1/DTS 5.1 as a pro using mainly software. I have looked into Sonic Foundary Acid Pro 4.0 which I read somewhere that it can mix 5.1? And what addidional Hardware will I need? (midi, etc?)
For Encoding I will use Scenarist's 5.1 Encoder.
Thanks in Advance for suggestions/help! :)

Steinberg Nuendo is what you want, does midi and does surround pan of up to 8 channels, which you can export to Wav's or even the Dolby Digital Encoder addin.

www.nuendo.com

you'll have to keep in mind that you'll need a high end sound card with multichannel capabilities (creative *.* not recommended).

a good soundcard to get would be anything based on the Envy chipset, eco systems are one that do, among many others.
