Hi-

DivX Guides (http://www.doom9.org/divx-encoding.htm)

Take your pick.

And you double posted to the DVD2AVI Forum-not a good idea.

I think that Dvd2avi v1.82 is very good tool not only for frameserving but for encoding too.
Version 1.82 contains also resize filter so you may encode MPEG2 video stream directly through Dvd2avi, skipping VirtualDub.

... gordianknot... it works afaik well on winXP ... at least i haven't experienced any real problems, and it is rather easy and straightforward to use...
especially with doom9s excellent guides!

if you're going for quality, you're going to want to use MPEG4, not MPEG2. read through the site, look at the guides. DivX5 is the simplest and produces great results, DivX3 and XviD are a bit more complicated, but can often out-do DivX5.
