I got 2 problems. I encoded Blood: The Last Vampire using the doom9 divx5(pro) guide. Download this (ftp://doom9:blood@131.211.235.250:1234/blood-intro.avi) file (154 kB) to see the problem. The subs are ok the rest of the movie, it's only during the intro (which is longer than that file). I though it might be cuz the codec doenst use enough bits, thus leaving out half of the info (subs), but I think if the not enough bits was the problem, that the subs wouldnt be left out, but would just be worse quality...
The 2nd problem is the freeze frame. The image freezes at 02:52 (and 2 more times in the movie. when audio is added, the audio plays on) in Global DivX Player and mplayer 6.4 and 7. DivX Player 2.0 alpha plays on, but dont tell me to use that one (I will from now on, but I want the video to be played in mplayer too). VDub doesnt detect a bad frame and if it freezes, the frozen image stays, untill I open another movie. I've encoded the 1st 3 minutes several times (with different settings) and it keeps freezing at the exact same spot.
I dont think this is of much use solving the problem, but here is my system info:
Duron 750, GF3 Ti200, 256MB PC133, Samsung SD-616 (DVD drive), WinXP, GordianKnot 0.26 Beta, DivX 5.02Pro.
well, if noone finds a solution I'll just encode the intro without subs, append the rest of the movie with subs and play it with DivX Player only.
oh, one more thing: A big sample (19MB, 3m10s) with almost the entire intro and the freeze-frame and a small sample (1.7MB, 18s) with the freeze-frame can be found here:
