I've a problem when capturing with my Hauppauge WinTV-Go!
When I watch TV : no problem, the image is very nice. But when I start capturing (whatever the software : I've tried VirtualDub, FreeVCR, NanoDVR...) the image looks very bad (some strange lines appear), and particulary on white parts of the image. Is there anybody who has already had this problem ? Can it be my hardware ?

My config :
MoBo: MSI K7T Turbo v3.0 (Via KT133a)
CPU : AMD T-Bird @ 1,4 GHz (FSB 266)
Mem : 256 SDR @ 133 MHz
Vid : Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 (Kyro 2)
TV : Hauppauge WinTV-Go! (BT878A, Phillips PAL/SECAM)
DVD : ARTEC 12/40x
HD : - WD Caviar 18 Go 7200 rpm
- Quantum Bigfoot 4,0 Go 5400 rpm
- Fujitsu 4,0 Go 5400 rpm

Help ! This problem sucks !!!!

Heh, you should use the search button!

But to sum it up in one place: (put an 'afaik' before everything)
- This is a common Hauppauge card problem
- Occurs when the card cant send fast enough via the PCI bus (mainly with VIA chipsets iirc)
- Solutions so far:
* Capture in YUV2 if you did in RGB
* Less Resolution
* Try capturing to a diffrent drive, perhaps (I dont know if somebody tried that yet) replug your capture drive to the other IDE channel if possible.

Cheers

Use the search button (Via KT133a).

Follow the optimisation guides in the FAQ (dropped frames answers).

Hi there.

The advice above is excellent.

I would also suggest you install the pci latency patch for your via mobo.
If you are using Huffuv - a temporary fix (not really a fix just a 'fudge') is to use picvid mjpeg at 18 or 19 for capping.

Good luck anyway.
