hi there,
as you can gather from the thread title, I'm planning onmost likely buying a dvd drive tonight, from mymate who bought it pretty cheap the other day and decided he didn't really want it after.
I'm used to general encoding etc because I've ripped a lot (prob bout 200or so) dvd's or divx's and converted them to SVCD or CVD format to burn to regular cds.
However, I usually do that on my 1ghz machine which is the machine that in future I plan to put the dvdwriter on, just I can't atmoment as parents are using it a lot and some important work needs doing on it so in meantime for about a month it'll be out of bounds for me to go ripping it to bits :devil:
In my own room, I use a p3 450mhz with 256mb ram and running on windows XP.
I don't normally use this for encoding films, but I plan on stil doing the encoding for now on the 1ghz machine. What I mainly want initially for most part for the writer to do while its plugged in there, is just to convert the cvd's and svcds ready for burning to dvdr by the usual method of joining, then demuxing, then putting them through SpruceUp as that was nice and easy I found,then burning in nero.
For doing that task will my p3 450 be fine enough to do it or could I cause problems with it burning if its not fast enough to do.......just as I've heard stories in past that if try to encode on a slow pc (I know I'm not encoding here tho) then there can sometimes be issues of syncing....so I'm wondering if when spruceup builds the files for burning if my pc will be ok and it shouldn't cause any problems doing this?
Also, I know its not in the same topic but I may aswell ask here in case you can answer it too.
A good few movies of mine on CVD and SVCD I have audio commentary as selectable tracks (sometimes some subs too but I'm not so bothered about them)
How can I demux both the seperate audio files to 2 seperate files, as tmpgenc tools for simple demultiplex only gives 1 audio stream....and to add them in Spruce up it normally auto adds the mpa file by it being the same name? so in spruce up would I just add the 2nd one manually? and it auto stream it alongside the 1st mpa?
