I'v a laptop with the following characteristics:

cpu: 650 MHz
ram: 256 MB
video: ATI rage mobility 4MB
OS: windows millennium/windows 2000

I bought this laptop 1 year ago and I used it to watch DVD and DiVx too; 2 weeks ago, without warning, the quality of the DiVx movies becomes terrible: no fluid video, no synchronization between video and audio.
I tried to re-install the operative system (of course, the DMA is enabled), I changed the drivers of my video card, I installed the FFDSHOW, but still I've problems.
Anyone has any suggestion?

sounds like the divx 5 decoder is decoding your movies. That kind of sysytem could have problems with movies done with anything other than divx 3. Did you try ffdshow with no postprocessing? Also bsplayer, would use less resources than say media player. Is cpu usage at max when the movies are being played?

It always appends, with each movies (made with each codec)
