Best way for synchronising ?!

Hello everybody !

I divxed a movie with XMPEG 4.5 without sound and my aim
to mux a ogg vorbis audio with the movie. Unfortunately,
mostly the audio is asynchron.
Is it possible to check the audio stream (AC3) with the movie (avi) ?
I tried it with NanDub but it isn't possible to play movie and ac3 stream together (em: no acm found to decode ac3).
It is unpleasant to decode the AC3 to wav (with 0 ms delay) and
test the delay with NanDub and then redecode with the correct
settings.
Is it possible to give the wave file a delay (or the Ogg stream) without decoding it again ?
And is it possible to find out the delay in the vob files ?
I have the option to create an info file about the movie during the
rip with DVD Decrypter but the delay is not right everytime.
E.G Memento (German): o ms delay but I correct the delay to
520 ms !

In nandub you have a menu option called Audio->Interleaving. Here you can specify the delay, and if you set both audio and video to Direct Stream Copy then you don't have to re-encode the whole thing again. You will get a second copy of the clip on your HD though.

Yes I know, but the problem is to use an *.ogg stream in
Nandub. When I wanted to add the audio (only ogg stream) Nandub is
always crashing.
I'am decoding AC3 to wave with 0 ms delay and test the
movie with the wave file using Nandub. After I find out correct
delay I decode the ac3 again with the accordant settings (using
HeadAC3he again). But this procedure is killing my time.

I didn't find an ogg ACM (the lastest one including version 1.0)to
use it with XMPEG (e.g.) !

From Doom9's OggMachine Guide (http://www.doom9.org/oggmachine.htm):

Muxing in Nandub will not work by default, and if you install the latest Vorbis dlls it will work but the sound will
get out of synch as soon as you fast forward/reverse so it's pretty much useless.According to Doom9's Ogg Guide (http://www.doom9.org/ogg.htm), you mux using OggMux.

And what's this got to do with DivX5?

When you demux the ac3 from the vobs with DVD2AVI, you get the correct delay value in the filename of the resulting ac3 files. I've never got a wrong delay value using this method.
