In these forums, with 17k+ members, we encourage looking before asking. In this very forum, on the first page, is a thread discussing this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33122
That thread also references the tutorials, which can be found at http://www.doom9.org/
There are several threads in the IfoEdit forum as well.

GENERALLY-speaking, you shrink the size of your ripped files by:

1) removing streams which you don't require (such as foreign language audio tracks, and foreign language subtitles).

2) re-encoding your video and, if necessary, audio too, so that these are smaller. To shrink Video, there are several encoders you can use, and each is discussed in detail throughout the guides, and throughout these forums. For example: Cinemacraft SP (CCE-SP), TMPGEnc, Canopus ProCoder, and ReMPEG. To shrink audio files, if you find it necessary to do so, you can simply re-encode .WAV soundtracks to AC3 or MPEG1-Layer 2 (the latter is not so popular since not all players support it, BUT, if space is really at a premium, it will let you choose a lower bitrate than AC3 will permit).

Once you have stripped away the unecessary stuff, and have re-encoded the remainder to make the streams smaller, then you can begin the re-authoring process.

I am not an expert on RE-authoring (my authoring is concerned with authoring *original* material, captured on DV-Cam, to DVD format), however, I can assure you that, as mpucoder noted, there are thousands of Doom9 forum members who have successfully achieved what you wish to do, and they have all succeeded in doing so with the help of the guides, forums, and tools which are available from Doom9's site. It seems unlikely that you are the exception to the rule. Good luck.

mpucoder said it as he should, arky put it very politely. U should search and research.

What u should do after stripping the stuff u dont need is reencode the main movie with CinemaCraft Encoder, Tmpeg, Canopus codec etc.

My personal opinion is to go for CinemaCraft. Best quality albeit the proccess is a little tedious.

Search the threads, read the guides. There r xcellent ones about each possible way. You should read the monster thread about 'Finally an CCE-Scenarist methode that actually works'. It a sticky one in the ifoedit forum.

from me too,
best of luck.

ps. avoid writting in CAPITAL. It is considered unpolite and like shouting.

@donkeymusic;
the forum rules say:

9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.

and yes its refering to titles as well as message bodys. please refrain from shouting cause we value our ear drums ;)
