well, i used this stupid asus live update feature under winXP to flash the bios of my mainboard, an asus a7v.
i don't know what happened or what i did wrong, but the board is dead.

if anybody has an old a7v lying around in the basement, that's not used anymore, please pm me.

i just need a working bios chip for a few minutes to flash my own back to life. i could even send it back.

i'm talking about the first a7v that came in a yellow box, not the a7v133 or a7v133a.

believe it or not, they want ~50,- euro for a new chip. don't think that's worth it. on the other hand i wouldn't know what to do with my 512 megs of sdram...

well, i wanna keep this mobo (i need a fourth computer anyway... ;) ) and any help would be highly appreciated!

thanx!

wef.

Have you tried the forum at www.a7vtroubleshooting.com ? Unfortunately I have an a7v133 so I can't help you.
