I'm trying to convert akira from divx to svcd.

I have the version which has the two audio tracks in it. Japanese and English.

When i play the movie back, all I hear is the japanese track. I would like to just extract the english version for the svcd. Anyone tried this before?

Try using "***", the most powerful leader in the development of PC based audio recording solutions.
Specific setting1: Run the program-->Options-->Recording Source and Parameters-->Click the Software instead of "Sound borad"-->Press the OK button.
Specific setting2: Find the "bugle" icon named as "Volume" at the right bottom of your PC's sreen, then double click it-->move the bars of Volume and Wave to the right or left side to get the only Japanese or only English audio, you can try it yourselves.
At last, you can press the "Record" button of ***, you will get .wav file or .mp3 file depending on your settings.
By the way, you can download "***" in the Download Area of http://www.***.com

I havn't tried that *** thing yet, but I think, that method won't extract the sound in less than 5 minutes right? you'll be waiting until the movie ends right? and it won't have exactly the same duration as the movie right? so for postprocessing you'll get totally unsynch sound right?

And a second point: he was talking about the second stream, not the left or right channel of a stream! and to extract the left or right channel I won't be waiting damn 2 hours to get the sound. I just need to put the soundfile in a sound editor and save the right or left channel separately and this won't take more than 2 minutes!
As for the second stream, the NanDub/AVI2WAV combination will extract for you the second stream in less than 5 minutes!

If I'm wrong, please cancel my ignorance!

EDIT: I edited the name of the program since it was the rule 5 violation...

I have had trouble with the Nandub 2nd stream extraction method before, with, if I recall, two .mp3 tracks. I used GraphEdit, and while it was more complicated than Nandub, it did work.
