I'm new to this whole DVD burning world, but have been enjoying my limited time in it. I just got a Phillips DVD+R AD228 and have burned several DVDs. This forum was key to my success.

Quick question - Everything I've read here says that I need to get the DVD size down to 4.37GB in order to fit it onto a disc, but the DVD+Rs that I'm using are 4.7GB. This is not a huge difference, but still a difference.

Are the references to 4.37 specific to DVD-Rs only? Or am I missing something?

Well, it's a quite comon mistake.

DVD-R and DVD+R are "4.7" , what means 4 700 000 000 bytes, so 4,489 MB or 4,38 GB.

This is in the Pioneer Faq's, sticky post in this forum.
But as you have a philips, i answered instead of my usual RTFM !
