Hello

I am fairly new into using GKnot and start get some expirience.

I use Gknot 0.26 and did a couple of movies just using the standard
procedure as described in the various guides and that all worked
well ( probably not at the best quality but i will work on that )

Now my problem:

SmartRipper : Ok

DVD2AVI : I can preview the movie no problem ( PAL 25 fps ). Settings as described in the help files ( as for all the other movies i did ) -> Saveed the project in the d2v project file

Once the proces of producing the d2v file finished I should be able to open the file in Gknot by pressing the "Open" button and selecting the appropriate d2v file.

But at this stage Gknot tells me that the file is an invalid
d2v file !!!!????

I opened that file again in dvd2avi and it works!

Any idea would be welcome! ( i just use the standard installation no other versions of any of the pieces required is installed )

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi StarRider and welcome to the forums-

Hmmm... That's a tough one if you didn't use any programs other than what comes with GKnot. Usually people get that problem if they use a version of DVD2AVI different than that which comes with GKnot (like the one that is made by SmartRipper2.41 or version 1.77 instead of the version 1.76 of DVD2AVI that comes with GKnot).

About all I can suggest is going to the Options Tab of GKnot and "Delete Registry Keys", and then deleting GKnot and reinstalling it and the updates. Perhaps someone else has a better suggestion. Please let us know what happens.

Hi

thanks for the fast reply. First of all it works now!

but the reinstallation didn't do the job. I had exactly the same
behaviour.

I tried ( after the reinstallation ) to recreate the d2v file
from the still loaded vobs which yielded exactly the same result as before.

The last try was to dump the vobs and rip the DVD again and redo
the whole process which resolved the problem in the end. Thats
good :) but i still do not understand why this had happend as i
could perfectly see the film in DVD2AVI in the first place
( well i did not look to the film in total but some scenes
throughout the film ).

Thanks again!

Hi-

Good Thinking. I don't think I would have come up with that one (since you said you could see the movie in DVD2AVI). Something for me to remember for the future.
