Hello. This is my first post here. I've been reading around everywhere and i notice you guys get pretty pissed off when someone doesnt read the FAQs or search the board or whatever. Lemme assure you that i've done all that already.

Anyways, my problem is a DVD (trigun) that is shaky when i play the backup. I understand this is because of a poor conversion from the original format to dvd format (correct me if i'm wrong)

Anyhow, this particular dvd is slightly shaky on the original DVD copy (no where near as bad as my SVCD backup) I wanna know if this is a 100% fool proof indicator that an anime will make a bad SVCD backup. (ie: if its not a little bit shaky on the DVD then the SVCD will always backup perfectly)

In other words: are there other animes that play perfectly on DVD but end up shaky on the SVCD copy?

I hope i worded that clearly enough. Thanks for any help

Well As much reading as I've done on anime rips I guess I am sorta qualified to answer this.. Your question actually involves a little bit of a complicated answer. In short Some animes will work and others will not work so much.. Now my long version may not be very clear because I'm still trying to understand the 'science' of it.. But it basically goes like this: Most movies are either top field order or bottom field order. but with animes sometimes they skip frome frame by frame.. meaning they'll start at top field order and 30 seconds later go to bottom field order.. Making it impossible for it to rip properly with the tools that we have at our disposel.. Anyway that's how it is from my understanding.. I may have jarmbled up a few things but I think I got the main concept.. Hope that helps.
