I was wondering. I have been using the RV9 codec for some time now and since day one it has been buggy. It makes great rips when it works but sometimes it just freezes up while ripping. Sometimes it's at %6 sometimes at %95+<---That's the one that really pisses you off. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm usuing stock heatsinks on my athlon XP 2k's and sometimes I wonder if they aren't getting the right cooling. Just wanting to know... Duck

Haven't had a single lock-up with Realproducer 9 public preview (the fully functional command line prog). I'm using it between 2 and 6 hours per day (between 1 and 3 Simpsons/Futurama episodes with heavy filtering in avisynth).
If you're not sure about your system's stability, run Prime95 torture test for several hours - if it doesn't report any errors, your system should be ok.

do you do everything via command line or do you use a GUI? If so what GUI?

Hi,
in fact there is 3 version of real producer (who use the rv9 codec)
- producer preview ( free but a bit old)
- producer helix basic (free)
- producer helix pro (need pay)
the preview version was made before the helix version. the helix version have the official real gui (preview version have no gui) , but the command line tools are buggy ( helix CLI crash often on the winXP os) the preview version is stable.
and the realmedia editor bundle with the preview version have a missing file (in fact it the atrc audio codec .dll file who was outdated, and u have an error : unsupported codec, -21XXX910). to solve all these problems, u can if u want try my light version (1.6Mo) : it's the preview command line + helix pro codec + rmeditor fixed.

and of course u can try my gui (actually version 1.1 but the v11.2 will be out in few days with the support of subtitles and 2 audio streams).
Bye.

Well I just tried to do Ronin for the 6th time and in the middle of it using your GUI around %25 on encoding pass it gave an error and then went back to your gui. Just stopped. it's done that a lot. Is it because I am using the preview and not the producer that comes with the helix set? I dl the helix free one and am testing it as i'm typing this
