I bought a 100 pack of generic dvd-r media, and the first few seemed ok, but one of them I just burned is having typical break-up and skipping/freezing issues and is unplayable after abotu 85% into the disc. I thought I had fixed this by switching to PIO mode, but apparently not. Can't be the power supply since it only happens at the end of discs.
Anyway, I wanted to run ADVDinfo to check the brand and post results, maybe get a cheap but reliable brand. However, with valid ASPI drivers, when I select the Lead-in option, and hit read disc, I get the same ASPI message:
ASPI Command Returned:
SenseKey 05h; ASC 24h; ASCQ 00h
What is happening here? This occurs for any brand I insert into the burner.
I don't want to waste the next 90 discs I burn. Can I try another disc and just get lucky once in a while? I am out of ideas here, other than getting expensive discs. Again, my friends uses these discs without these problems.
