hi ppl,
i'm sure that somebody can answer my question:
i'd like to keep ALL the menus, subtitles, trailers, featurette, blablabla of "die hard with a vengeance" which is pretty "simple" ;) b/c it's only the movie, trailer, and the featurette that needs to be compressed to fit fine on one dvd-r.
so far, i have completed the following steps:
1. ripping ALL dvd-files on hd with dvd-decrypter. result:
VIDEO_TS.IFO/BUP/VOB
VTS_01_x.IFO/BUP/VOB
...
VTS_05_x.IFO/BUP/VOB
2. used ifoedit to remove the stupid fbi-warnings and rce-checking by patching video_ts.ifo and vts_02_0.ifo -> works fine.
2. used ifoedit to create a "cffl" file and then rempeg to produce m2v file (from vts_02_1.vob to vts_02_7.vob which is the main movie).
3. used ifoedit 0.6 to remux the m2v file back into vobs creating vts_02_1.vob to vts_02_4.vob (therefore already reducing the #s of vobs by 3!) => remuxing with ifoedit 0.6 does not give any "stutters" (some call it "freezes") during playback, but all others do including ifoedit 0.94 prerelease 4.1
4. saved the ORIGINAL vts_02_x.vobs (1-7) by moving those vobs to a separate directory and replaced them with the NEWLY created vts_02_x.vobs (1-4).
5. used ifoedit 0.932 to correct vts sectors -> a whole bunch of corrections were displayed in IFOs of vts_02, vts_03, vts_04, vts_05.
6. used ifoedit's dvd-player to check playability, but received 2 error messages right away: 1. "DVD Warning: Could not open file on the DVD disc" and 2. "A file on the DVD disc could not be opened. Playback may not continue." :scared:
7. when i move the ORIGINAL vts_02_x.vobs (1-7) back to its original location, the dvd plays fine. i don't even need to correct the vts sector!!! :sly:
i checked a bunch of guides (also derrow's), but couldn't find the answer. maybe i overlooked something. is this a typical beginner's mistake???
anybody out there who can help me b4 i go insane???
