I have made attempts at splitting DVDs with their menus and I can play the movie but not all of the time do the chapter selections work. The 2 movies that I have had most of the problem with are Lord of the Rings R2 and Tomb Raider R1.
With Lord of the Rings it doesn't move to the chapter selection at all. Tomb Raider on the other hand does and will allow chapters to be selected but when going back to select the main movie to play - it plays from the last chapter selected.
My method of splitting is via Derrows Ifoedit splitting a DVD-9 to 2 DVD-5s. I understand that most movies (if not all of them) are created differently hence my post to get a better understanding of this.
One particular thing I would like to do with Tomb Raider is to have the film on 1 DVD and the special features on another
