Hello,

I have tried since yesterday Converting VCD to Divx.
But in the middle of the processing i get always suddenly beeps from Tower.
I dunno how to fix this problem. I changed also my OS.. tried Win2000 and Windows Millennium.. Both i get same beeps in the middle of the processing of the encoding.

Does someone had same problem and can help me with it?

What you are describing sounds like a motherboard problem. Perhaps a memory or a video card error. Usually the motherboard manufactorer (or BIOS manufactorer) can tell you what the beeps mean. This is only specific to the encoding process in so far that is uses a lot of resources and thus drives your motherboard to the extreme, but it really has nothing to do with encoding.

so does the driver update of motherboard or bios-update solve this problem?

or shall i need to ask the manufacturer how can this prob solved ?

i had until now.. never had this problem.. i have been used this for one year.. never happened.

You should try to find your BIOS's beepcodes explained somewhere on the net. That will tell you what the error is that you get, which in turn will give you a clue on what to fix.
There's no one place where you can find this, so you'll just have to go searching for a while.

Hi-

Yes-lots of things can cause that. Nothing stresses the system like video encoding. It could be overheating even (are the fans and heatsinks of decent quality-are the fans all working-can you monitor the temperatures?). If you have the motherboard manual, it might tell you what the sequence of beeps mean. Maybe ask in the Hardware Forum because, as Acaila said, it's not really an encoding question.
