Does the 1st Pass Need to be Repeated if it fails on the 2nd Pass?

Just asking because with some DVD's I get an error that is sometimes random. Sometimes it's fixed, I'd just like to know if I have to redo the 1st pass of a 2 pass if I get a failure on the 2nd pass.

I'm thinking no because that txt file is still sitting there, but I'm nto totally sure.

you don't have to as long you don't change any settings (bitrate changing up to +/- 30% allowed, but not recommended)
