View Full Version : Reason for CCE 2.5 checksum errors?

Hi,

Does anybody know *why* this error pops up? I'm aware of the patch, I also understand that this patch turns off checksum verification.

What I miss is that if CCE complains about different video stream passed to it every time, shouldn't the fix address the cause of this(as opposed to just turning off the verification logic)?

All the relevant threads here just say "got the error? get the patch!", but don't seem to offer any reasonable explanation...

Shouldn't people be concerned that, perhaps, VBR method doesn't work properly as every pass deals with slightly different source data?

Thanks.

the problem stems from streaming the footage to CCE thru avisynth or the like from a decoder of some sort.

the decoder may not extract the stream exactly every time.

I also tried encoding a plain .avi file (DivX4 and uncompressed). One day it worked, but then it started producing the checksum errors.

maybe removing any overclock and reducing your memory timings might fix that.

Perhaps. But the machine is not overclocked. And everything else has been stable so far. DivX encoding including.

try running SuperPi, creates lots of digits of Pi past the decimal point, if it brings up an error, your computer isnt stable.

there is a version of SuperPi here hxxp://www.thomas.xmmx.de/files/mypc.htm
