What image quality setting do you use?

Because I notice different people use different settings, I'm curious what people use for the image quality setting.

For the purpose of the poll, we will assume that the movie has some high action sequencies, is about 2 hours long, is from a DVD source, and very little dark/black sequencies.

So what image quality would you use?

Bitrate? (assuming it's for 3 CDs it would be around 2450kbps, or around 1600kbps for 2 CDs.)

Aspect ration, 2.35 or 1.85, full screen?

I was referring to CCE, and under Quality Settings there is a setting for Image Quality Priority. The scale moves from Complex to Flat. RobbShot method says use a Image Quality Priority of 5. Some people say they have had better exerience with 17 or 25. I'm trying to see what the majority would use for an "average" movie

BTW, if this makes a difference to anyone in the Image Quality Priority setting, this average movie is 16 x 9 LB.

I use either between 14 and 24. That's my own average.

So is it 3CD (~2450kbps), and also is it SVCD or Full D1?

I'm going to vote assuming 3CDs SVCD, and say 15.

It really shouldn't matter the size or cd length of the movie when using Image Quality setting. Are you thinking of Quantization Factor?

If I use a lower bitrate I like to lower the IQ setting because I find misquito noise more annoying.

Actually I wasn't thinking that bitrate or length mattered, but for your own curiosity...

let's say 1 DVD-R disc, Multipass VBR with a minimal bitrate of 2000 Kbps, average of 3500 Kbps, and max of 9000 Kbps.
