Greenish tint w/ greyscale mode.

I am having a little trouble with the XviD's greyscale mode. It seems occasionally that for several seconds sometimes, the othterwise black and white picture begins to block with a greenish tint. I have tested this under many cirumstances, so I don't think it can be attributed to a single setting. This seems to have occured in at least one scene rip (where it was stated in the nfo that greyscale mode was used), so I don't think this is a problem specific to me. If you would like I could post some screenshots, to allow you to better understand what I am talking about. I am using Koepi's 04102002 build. Thanks.

I can't think of any situation which would cause this..

This may be a problem with ffdshow. I closed the clip and reopened it last night to make sure it wasn't just a glitch during playback, and the results were repeated perfectly. Then I did the exact same thing this morning, trying to make some screenshots, and the green was gone. I don't know what would cause this...

how could i avoid that (size of the clip is 360*208)

now that my attached file appears :) i'd like to add that all the keyframes are perfect, but, between them, this strange color appears from the right, then gets bigger and bigger (depending of the scene of course) until the next keyframe (and perfect picture) appears

Wow. I'd like to know which build this occurs with (both XviD and ffdshow) and what settings you're using, I haven't seen something like this for a very long time. I don't believe it's a resolution issue (multiple of 8 should be fine at the moment), it looks like a motion estimation range bug.

i've encoded in two pass
options were
6 - ultrahigh

XVID

i decided to encode the start credits in greyscale, that worked

the other options were left untouched as far as i remember

can you try encoding that sequence in a resolution multiple of 16 please? Just to make sure that it isn't caused by the resolution.

Wow that's a tad scary, I guess our edging is bad for non-mod-16 sources (it used to be OK). Well Pete is rewriting most of it to support any input resolution, so hopefully this won't appear much anymore.
