New CCE-SP build - 2.66.01.02

News! according to Oleg's site, there is a new build of CCE-SP already (surprise, surprise!). (previous build was 2.66.01.01)

1. A logo will be inserted in the encoded stream.
2. Encoder control list cannot be saved or loaded.
3. Framewise setting is not available for Quality setting.

- Had a problem parsing wave file.
- Had a problem setting reference frame and timecode.
- Inverse 32 pulldown and panscan settings at template was not set.
And from the readme:<< Known bugs >>
1. VBR encoding with "3:2 pulldown detection" selected causes error.
2. MPEG-1 encoding may cause "bad MV detected" error.
Also, I noticed the readme requires WinXP, Win2k, or WinNT 4.0SP6. So the 2.66 series is the first not to support Win9x/ME, at least officially.

If S*G has the blocky problem and Ts***mi have the advance set-up problem both on the 01, looks like Co**Fu**on have have the best of both and works on the 02. Anyone tried this yet? I didn't experience any noticeable difference in quality and speed than the trial version.

Before I installed version 2.66.01.02, I manually deleted the earlier version 2.66.01.01 except the registry settings of the matrix from patcher 0.3.9. When installed the new version and its patch I still had the extra matrix options from the 0.3.9 patcher...the best of both worlds. Also as others earlier mentioned, don't bother with the plug-in version, use the full version with Premiere VideoServer utility. Takes roughly the same time to encode as the plug-in and gives access to the full power of CCE SP.

The encoding by timecodes bit has never been in the trial version has it?

I imagine people would mainly want to tweak after vaf creation anyway, and that feature is still available :)

Also, just to clarify it's not the patch that allows the use of advanced filtering without templates, the trial does as well :)

codefusion is not the cracker, its the crack engine used to patch it, actually its uknown who made it, it doesnt state, but anyways havent tested it, but was tough to find, good luck

Yeap, you are certainly right. You see, I haven't tested 2.66.01.02 without the patch, so I assumed it wouldn't do it...based on my experience with version 2.66.01.01. But now, reading your comments and finally reading the CCE SP trial's release notes... it all makes sense. Thanks for correcting on my mistaken observation.

You are correct, it's not part of it (never was), therefore I don't think it will ever be "cracked"...and as I also mentioned earlier...most of us won't really miss it as you reasoned it so well: "people would mainly want to tweak after vaf creation anyway, and that feature is still available".

Just thought I'd post a bug. If you encode with a template with timecode = 00 00 00 00 the right click->edit box is still set to 01 00 00 00 and that will be used unless you change that manually.

Found this the hard way, now I can't import my chapters properly.

BTW paulusz thanks for clearing up the bit about encoding by timecodes :)

By the way, patcher 0.4.0 is available for all versions including the latest 2.66.01.02...

The pro version is a hardware package, it includes a PC w/capture card and decoder board.

I noticed that, but if I don't then maestro won't import chapters properly (even after changing the figure to 0 in Maestro). I used a timecode of 00:00:00:00 on a film with the first build of 2.66. Watched it all the way through without any troubles.

BTW after using patcher 0.4.0 the cce exe is the same as after patching with afforementioned patch.

ssg released a new crackfix, it just says 2.66 though no clarification on which build it is, and dont quite understand what they fixed

I have been using cce 2.5 for sometime now with avisynth.
I got hold of 2.66 but when I try to open an .avs file i get an error that it cannot open such a file.
Anyone can help?

Be forewarned, CCE 2.66.01.02 has a serious memory leak
after each Encoding job :-(

Run a a batch job and pretty soo all memory is gone!

I ran a batch with 6 jobs and CCE had used up over 1 gig of
my ram!!!!

Same group run under 2.5 used 210 meg ram max :-)

I was getting this with 2.66.01.01 using AVISynth2. Check out this thread in the AVISYNTH forum:

I'm not geting any leak with 2.66.01.01 with VFAPI, but I haven't yet tried 01.02.

Well one minor question abuot something... talking about cracks and stuff is illegal... but one thing i would like to ask... the patcher to remore the crc code made for version 2.50... and to be honest i havent seen and therefor havent used any patcher for anyother version :( is this crc patcher illegal?

I hope not... cuase this sure helps a lot... and even though not having an illegal version the patcher would be a great addiction.

If it is not illegal to talk about.... does anyone know where i can find a crc patcher?

crc patcher is not illegal, as a mater of fact there is a link to it posted by dvd2svcd himself, in the dvd2svcd faq thread.

Has anyone noticed that on the new version, when DVD compliant is selected, if you try to produce an mpg with 1/2 horizontal res. the resulting file is garbage...

You can still encode with 1/2 horizontal but you must deselect DVD compliant.

I only started using CCE with version 2.64 but that version didn't have the problem. I guess they got lonly for that particular bug and put it back in...;)

ha, maybe. i never used 2.64 regularly. it seems if you do Half D1, click DVD Compliant you wind up with a 352x480 picture within a 720x480 res. Not very nice surprise to have after 8hrs of encoding. I would guess this is the same in 2.66.

I disagree!

After playing with the settings, I find the total size a lil smaller
and the quality just a tad better.

My speed also went from 1.55 in 2.5 to 1.7-1.8 in 2.66
