View Full Version : Out of Hard Drive Space for 3rd Image File

Midnight
3rd October 2002, 19:37
After checking the log generated by DVD2SVCD I can see why the creation of the 3rd Cue/Bin file failed, there simply wasn't enough space left on my partition (15GB) This surprised me as I thought 15GB would be ample given that apart from DVD2SVCD,TMPGEnc and Daemon Tools there is nothing else on this partition. My questions are these : Have I missed something ? Should I resize my hard-drive ? And finally can I create the last image after burning the first 2 and then deleteing them to make space for the last image ? How should I pick this up in DVD2SVCD.
Thanks in advance for your help and assistance.

yeah, if you look there, you've got 8 vob files, now this is between 7 or 8 gigs, right there, then you've got all the temporary files (ac3, mpg with and without subs, etc) so yes, you could easily have 15gigs if you don't have the option to "delete temporary files" checked. Now you can delete the vob's or the ac3, or something that is around a gig and resume the process in the misc tab. Then you can resume from the image creation step. All that is needed here is the final mpg's so don't delete those just yet.

Thanks for your reply Pacohaas. I deleted the VOB files and reloaded DVD2SVCD and have now successfully created all 3 cue/bin files.

One final question, should I leave the checkbox-Don't delete any files unchecked in future or just resize my hard-drive ?

whatever you feel comfortable with, usually 15gigs should be enough, but as you've shown, sometimes it can even go over that. Another solution is to specify different locations on different drives for the different steps (audio, subs, source, etc)
