I have an .m2v file created by tmpgenc and I go to remux with ifoedit and it goes nowhere I get an infinite hour glass, running 2000 w/ntfs.
I perform the same steps as done w/rempeg.

Please help

I have just experienced the same problem as you. It has been working fine, but I downloaded the latest version of Tmpeg, and my just sits there aswell, go back to old version is my solution.

Thanks for the reply, I make the template for dvd2avi using ifoedit then encode, take the resulting m2v file and try to remux with ifoedit and the computer does nothing, I get the little progress box but the indicator does not move and I get an infinite hour glass. I let it go over night once and nothing happened just the hour glass

FOR PRESBY 72

MAYBE I'VE FOUND A SYSTEM TO REMUX WITHOUT PROBLEM TMPGENC MOVIE IN IFOEDIT WITH SINCH AUDIO.

I'VE USED IFOEDIT 0.88, WHICH USES A DIFFERENT SYSTEM FOR TMPG TEMPLATE.

1)USE DVD2AVI TO CREATE A D2V PROJECT, DON'T SET THE OPTION FORCED FILM OTHERWISE YOUR MOVIE WILL BE JERKY.

2) WITH IFOEDIT 0.88 CREATE A TMPG TEMPLATE.

3)USE THE LATEST VERSION OF TMPENC AND IMPORT YOUR TMPG TEMPLATE

4) AT THE END YOU WILL GET A NEW MOVIE SHORTER FROM THE ORIGINAL BUT DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS.

5) REMUX IN THE ORIGINAL VOB WITH IFOEDIT 0.88

I HOPE THIS HELP YOU

I DON'T REMEBER THE EXACTLY PROCEDURE, BUT TIS WILL HELP YOU.

START DVD2AVI 1.76 CHOOSE HELP AND ASSURE THE OPTION "VFAPI PLUG-IN" IS SETTED.
DON'T CLOSE DVD2AVI, OPEN THE FOLDER WHERE IS THE PROGRAM AND DRAG THE FILE "DVD2AVI.vfp" IN THE FOLDER OF TEMPGENC.
CLOSE DVD2AVI START TMPGENC AND GO IN "ENVIROMENTAL SETTING" AND CHOOSE "VFAPI PLUG-IN", NOW YOU'LL FIND THE FOLLOW OPTION "DVD2AVI Project File Reader 1.76+" AND IF YOU SELECT THIS OPTION WITH THE MOUSE WITHOUT CLICKING WILL APPEAR THE FOLLOW INSCRIPTION "SUPPORTED FILE EXTENSION *.D2V". nOW SELECT THE OPTION CLICK THE RIGHT BUTTON OF THE MOUSE AND SELECT THE OPTION "HIGHER PRIORITY" UNTIL YOU CAN IMPORT A D2V PROJECT.

KEEP ME INFORMED

Has anyone got a successful Remux with .M2V file created with
TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152-Plus with IfoEdit?

I was thinking of trying it but if i can't get it to Remux in IfoEdit, it would be a waste of time....!

I might be talking out of my you know what but why the .AVI junk.

I've opened a .vob with TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152-Plus.

Yes crow,

If you have the m2v file created by tmpgenc, and the ac3 file that dvd2avi created you can then use the new dvd authoring tool on ifoedit .94 to remux and there are no sync problems, the only downside is there no chapters, but you can still fast forward.

All you need is this plugin M2V.VFP Click

Click HERE (http://www.dvd-digest.tv/downloads/files/encode/m2v_vfp-0.4.6.zip) to dowmload

crow
22nd October 2002, 22:13
This plugin will allow you to open vob files, Mpeg-2
unless you already can?

Download & put in the same folder as TMPGEnc....!

Ho by the way i'm very IMPRESSED
with TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152-Plus.

I'm still not clear, what will this help me to do, author or remux??

crow

Author: I haven't tried to remux with IfoEdit YET

presby72: I'm getting the feeling that we're wasting our time
with TMPGEnc if the m2v file can't be remuxed.

I do know that ReMpeg2 will create a m2v file that IfoEdit will remux..

But after using TMPGEnc it's going to be hard to go back.....!

ok crow, I've got it straight.

this is a working remux method for tmpgenc and ifoedit.

1.rip the entire movie to HD

2.use ifoedit to stirp everything expect the langauge you wish.

3.use vob splitter to remove the opening studio screen, and the ratings screen, these screens are what throw the audio out of sync.
open vob splitter and press check file once this is complete pres the split vob button for the first vob only (THIS IS THE 1st VOB IN THE NEW FOLDER WITH THE STRIPED MOVIE THAT YOU CREATED WITH IFOEDIT) then follow the instructions that the program gives,(very easy). when it is finished open the folder that contains your movie, (not the original movie but the striped one done in the step before w/ifoedit, and in this folder you will see your movie vob's plus some new ones. open the new vob's and play them in power dvd delete the studio logo and ratings screen. these wil be small files approx. 8-9 MB then play the big file created to make sure that it has the movie. finally delete the VTS 1_1.VOB file and rename the large file just created for you by vob splitter to the name of the file you just deleted.

4.open the vts1_1.ifo w/ifoedit and press create tmpgtmp button,it will run through once completly, but you are not finshed yet, you must then highlight one of the IBPPIBB... frames returned after the first pass by simply clicking on it once. then press ok and ifoedit will go thru the process once agin this time it will create a usable template.

5.create a dvd2avi project as specified in Doom9's guides.

6.load the dvd2avi project in Tmpgenc. (if you don't have the option to load this type of project or it says file type unsupported, you must go to the folder which contains dvd2avi and copy the dvd2avi.vfp file and place in your tmpgenc file. now you will be able to open the dvd2avi project.

7.follow the doom9 guide for the proper settings in tmpgenc,

8.load the template, which will freeze your computer for a minute or two.

9.click ok on the screen once the template is loaded then ok to close the previous screen. and press encode. wait a few hours.

11.re-mux with ifoedit use the doom9 guides to help with this.

12. create an image file with ifoedit, (you must download imgtool and place it in the same folder as ifoedit in order for this function to work in ifoedit), you can find it in the doom9 download section.
burn with what ever software supports dvd.img files

If every is done right you will have a great quality picture and in sync audio!!!

This is something I came up with after stuggling myself to understand exactly how everything worked. If you have any questions post them and I will try to repsond in a timely manner.
