I/O Error 103 When encoding Ocean's Eleven

Hi there i was just trying to create my DivX from Ocean's Eleven tonight but when i tried to do the compatability check it Gknot gave an I/O Error 103 and closed itself ..
I ripped 5 movies before and it all went good this is the first time i get this error and i tried the search but none of the answers i found were working for me so i hope some1 can help me :)

hmm just when i'm looking at my own log now i read this 3 lines:

why does Gknot suddenly thinks i wanna save the avi to my C:\ disk, i don't want that at all, some1 knows where i can change this setting, as it may cause the problem?

Hi-

You can change where the movie is saved in the Encoder Tab. Go Add Job-AVI Output File. At the same time make sure the Frame Server and Frame Server Credits are correct.

As for the I/O Error 103, do a search-there are a few threads about it. Oh yeah-you did that already. It could be an .avs error. Maybe post that also (but leave off all the lines beginning with "#".

also i would like to add that in the menu of save the .avs if i select 'preview' windows media player gets a 'Cannot playback file, format not supported' error, i don't know if thats normal but i don't think so..

Hi-

I asked you to give it to me without the lines beginning with "#" and you give me the whole thing, when there are only 5 lines that actually do anything. But you gave the real clue when you said:

'Cannot playback file, format not supported'

Always test out the .avs in the Preview or in VDub-Nandub before encoding to see that everything's OK. It looks to be a codec problem. Open VDub (Virtual Dub and not Nandub), and go Video-Compression and see if DivX3 is installed. Near the top should be DivX;) MPEG-4 Low-Motion and Fast Motion. If worse comes to worse, you'll have to uninstall GKnot (first go to the Options Tab and hit "Delete Registry Keys"), and then delete the GKnot folder. Reinstall GKnot and the updates (you probably do not want to install DivX4). Good Luck.

Edit: Although I don't think it has anything to do with your particular problem, you should make your crops with even numbers.

hmm what the hell there is no divx3 there, although i play divx's a few times a week, very strange, but i will reinstall divx & gknot if necessary and try again :)

I was referring to this line of your .avs:

I try and keep all of those numbers as even numbers. Maybe take a look at neuron2's responses (especially the second one) in this thread:

You can try and just reinstall the DivX3 Codec (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Codecs/divx_311alpha.exe) to see if that fixes the problem before uninstalling and reinstalling GKnot.

hmm my codecs are working now but the problem still exists, let me take another look at it :(

I looked at that link u gave me and it was good stuff to read, thnx for it. And i reinstalled Gknot which fixed my problems, i can 'preview' now and the compressability test worked fine, so i thank u very much and i will queue the job for tonight when i'm asleep, i'll let u know how it ended later :)

It's nice of you to come back saying it worked. Not so much for the ego stroking for us that try and help (although I admit to being strokeable :)), but we can use it to help the next guy that has a similar problem.
