They sell it cheaper than the TDK x2 on http://www.directshoponline.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv

Anyone bought legacy DVD-R yet ? According to the website:

...Assemble in U.S.A., OEM by Taiwan ProDisc (Prodisc DVD-R 4.7 GB General Ver. 2.0 was awarded recognition from Pioneer Class A Lab). ver.2.0, 4.7GB capacity DVD-R (120 Min.). Grade A guaranteed...

At 158$ for 100 it looks like a good deal if the DVD-R are good quality...

Prodisc *cannot* be burned at 2x at the moment! I think it's in the certification process, and might be 2x compatible with the next firmware, but this is IIRC.

How about the DVDPro one ? Who are making them ?

According to Supermediastore

...DvdPro 2X DVD-R Media 4.7GB General Purpose 100 pack,$1.34 each
DVD Pro 2x may not burn at 2x on the Pioneer certain drives if your firmware is out of date. You can find more information and update your firmware by clicking here http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware/dvd/dvdrf.htm

Anyone was successful burning these DVDPro in x2 ?

The latest available firmwares there are 1.90/1.32, so DVDPro will not burn at 2x either, unless its made by one of the 7 manufacturers who make 2x media.
