Can anyone recommend the best way of checking if your dvd works without first burning it.I've recently had dvds that play fine on PowerDVD only to burn them and the disc doesn't work...this particularly happens when I split the original disc using ifoedit and then add extras.I've done other discs that work just fine

Have you tried checking your project with DVD Play in IFOEdit?Load up the VIDEO_TS.IFO. You should be able to navigate around as if it was on a DVD-R. If all the links work and you can navigate between the menus, films, extras etc. then as long as you do a GET VTS sectors (IMPORTANT : close down IFO File and re-open and do a GET VTS sectors) and burn it properly, then it will play from the DVD-R.

How do you edit the disc so it doesn't look for titles which aren't there?Where is the running order of the prg commands?

Its all in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. Open it up in IFOEdit and look on the top half. By clicking on the various mapping tables you can see what is going on in the file. Derrow has a very user friendly program in IFOEdit and by right clicking over commands etc it gives you pre-programmed changes. Worth a look at http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/ for some excellent pointers.
