Anyone tried encoding with DVX?

Hi there- just wondering if anyone here has tried encoding with DVX, and if it's any good- at first glance it looks remarkably similar to Gordian Knot, though probably not as simple to use.

I tried it a couple versions back but I havn't had the chance to try it again. I think it has some promise but you'll still have a hard time replacing trusty GKnot. I'd say check it out and let us know what you think.

Does it have "autocrop" like GKnot or Vidomi? If not, this is a deal breaker for me - cropping manually is such a drag.

first of all imho an autocrop routine is never the most reliable way: think about the div/4 rule of thumb and compare the settings/values you get out of auto-crop-routines.
i have never relied on them!

DVX does not have an auto-crop-routine, but it does have a nifty way of visually cropping your material.

take a look and judge for yourself.

I'm sorry auto crop is currently not supported but this is one of the features I want to add, some important things like XviD comp test and a log function are still missing

Sorry if this is a stupid question - but what does it need Micro$oft's .NET for? (The download is about 21 Megs)

the .net framework is necessary for any program written in microsoft visual studio.net languages. the program will not run without it.
its really big but qith time goes by u will need it for other programs as well and it will be bundled with future microsoft products.

I'm sorry, it's that big because of the included class library, but .NET programs are pretty small, DVX is zipped less than 100 KB!
