Hi i have just tken win xp off my comp and put win 2000 back on, but now i am having problems with dvd decrytper, i installed the newist version to begin with and in the log there was an error stating:
drive c:/(fat32) does not support files > 4GB
i took that version out and put in an older version and at 97% of the ripp it stopped with access denighed. Can anyone help
Someone told me that "The no files>4GB is a function of your hard drive file format. FAT32 is limited to 4GB file sizes"
But how do i fix it do i have to go abck to XP??

You better use SmartRipper, it's the best ripper IMHO.

Ive tried but just cannot get the hang of it. I use ulead dvd Factory to burn image, But with smart ripper its a little more complex with the iso fuction on dvd decryter it just craetes one file that stays on the hard drive then you can select it with dvd factory but there is nothing to select with smart ripper other then a folder??

Well DVD Decrypter is not that bad (but I agree SmartRipper is the best :D ).
I think the real problem is that it's a great pity to have FAT32 partitions under Win2k : use NTFS !!! ;)
Just my 2 € cents...

To convert from FAT32 to NTFS, which will eliminate the 4GB file limit, use the "convert" command. Type "convert /?" in a command window for more information. You will also find information on the file systems, and procedures for using the "convert" command in the W2K Help system.

be warned though that after converting there is no way to return back to fat32 but formatting. Win98 or Me cannot be installed on a ntfs disk. Of course all the above is informational only. Who would want to return to 16k Kernel (ie win 9?, Me)

Go to options and set to split the vobs at 1GB.

Yes, you can easily solve this problem and for video anything NTFS is better than FAT32 and it is true that once done you can't go back.

The command is CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS

But remmember that only operating systems that can see NTFS partitions will be able to access this drive namely:

Windows NT, 2000, XP. ( and I'm not sure but I think Linux with an extra utility)
