Hmm...so my last thread was closed. No problem.I just forget to mention that pardon my bad english , i am not english man.Anyways
I ripped full two dvds with dvd dec .
Use DVD2Avi > vfapi
Transcode main movie with CCE 2.50.
now All i want to do is, place two movies in one dvd-r but with thier original menus. My Main Menu ( First play) on dvd-r would be the selection of movie. And when user select the movie, then the user taken to the original menu of that movie, which will behave just like original ones.
I have the Dvd which has 2 movies with thier original menus in one Dvd-r.The First menu is the selection and then originals menus.I can't really figure out how i can do this too.I can send u its .ifo's as well.
U guys would be thinking of space matter. But i got DLT tape drive , so i can write upto 8.5gb.If u guys getting confuse from DLT, just forget it.Lets assume i would not burn this I will just watch on my PC.
If anyone still have any diffculties understanding my problem please let me know i will explain it 100's times.
Derrow , sorry for last thread subject.I will take care next time.
Hope to see a positive reply.

Ah, now I'm understanding it a bit better.
Well if you use CCE to transcode the movie, then you need to re-author your DVD completly.
So you must recreate the Menus too.
If you would use ReMPEG2 for transcoding, you could use IfoEdit to remux the video stream back into the original DVD, and would have no problem to keep the original menu.

Anyways, as i said i want to do TWO movies and i guees the method u suggest is for one movie isn't.
I want to put TWO movies on one DVD-r and want to use thier original menus.
Question: how can i navigate between two movies?
Answer : i will made a Menus(in photoshop) which will hv two buttons. Each button represnt one movie name and will linked to the respective movie menu. Now i can do this in meastro. But wat to do after then.

Nope, my Method is for one Title-Set ;)
So it doesn't matter how many movies (Title-Sets) are on one DVD.
If you're redoing the movie and menu with Maestro, then where's your problem? When you create the Menu in Maestro you must specify what Button should be linked to what movie/menu.
But don't ask me how to work with Maestro. I never used it.
I just use MyDVD by Sonic for my little private video-collection.

Ok.I got ur point.I will hv to reauthor the whole thing again.rite.
I will grab animated menus usnig VobEdit. And static menus using DVD2AVI.
I will put them into meastro will do the authoring. Here i want to ask u something. My chapter selection menus has 50 selection. So it will take some time,Is this possible that i only draw buttons on it and don't linked it to anything. And after compile of my whole project i use IfoUpdate to correct the all buttons and linked.??
Thanks in advance

I don't know if IfoUpdate can do that?
But I don't think so.
I guess you will need to link the Buttons with the authoring tool.
Ey, just try to get/read the manual of Maestro.
Makes life easier.

I understood ur question DVD@Best, as I have the same one. Want to retain original menus from 2 DVDs. and dont know how to make it work with one DVD, even when the size of CCE files is adequate for one disc.

Alight, moved this thread from IfoEdit forum to Authoring forum, since you have problems on using Maestro, and I'm not aware of Maestro.

You have to totally reauthor the entire thing using either Maestro or Scenarist. Doom9.org has guides for both. You need some kind of menu that one button will send you to vts_01 set (thus loading up the main menu of movie #1) and the other button sending you to the vts_02 set (this sending you to the main menu of movie #2).

So making the menu with 2 buttons wouldn't be difficult but how would you make each button go to its respective vts set? And how would you make an .ifo file to do this?

just make an "main menu" in maestro
there you set the links to the menus for each movie,
there you set your navigation however (start, chap menus, etc ...)
you have to watch for, that your buttons are configured.
after you done with that, you can make an navigation test, so
you see if all works right.
its no big deal with self made still menus, will be hard to
fit 2 movies with both original animateden menus on there cause
what i see is, animated menus are about 500megs up to 1 gig each.

Maestro makes this a breeze. Just make a "main" title menu to pick between the two, then reauthor each of your two movies under that same project. If your animated menus are hogging up too much space, CCE them down prior to reauthoring. If you want REALLY small menus, CCE them down to a bitrate <1500-1600, and accept light pixelization (depending on the source). Then you can save your dataspace for better quality in the movie.
I have done this several times to put two versions of the same movie (Like Beddazled from the 60's, and Bedazzled from 1999) on the same DVD. Maestro makes it easy, especially when the sources are not all 16:9 or 4:3, but a mixture.
You DO have to add one additional button on each of the TWO movie menus to navigate you back to the MAIN menu, which allows you to select which movie to view.
Good luck!
