What is the best way to copy a working DVD-R

I have working backup DVD-RW`s of some movies and I want to know the best way to make a copy on a DVD-R using NERO.
This way I can store the movie on a disk rather than my Hard drive and make a copy whenever I need one.

It's very good for CD stuff, but with DVD it has got its probs.

I use File Explorer in Windows and copy the VIDEO_TS folder to my hd and then just burn it with nero to a DVD-r..
Works everytime

Derrow Nero 5.5.9.9 is awesome, it even has the
VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders waiting for you, just drop your files in them and burn!

I have had problems with my backups but I don't think NERO is the problem.

As you sad in an earlier post Derrow my problem, probably is the media

if you don't know at all where the dvd-r comes from, you might check it's not macrovision protected

I've been trying Nero for DVD writing but failed at my first attempt.
I have a DVD image created with IfoEdit that works fine when mounted in my O/S, burns OK with DVDecryter & VOB Instant DVD and subsequently plays fine in my standalone player Sony 7700.
But when I tried to burn this image with Nero it would eject my blank DVD-RW and insist I put a CD-R disk in the drive!

Have you had success burning a DVD image with Nero?

I've never made an image. I use the Nero Wizard, follow the steps for DVD Video. When you get there, the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders are there waiting for you. (The Audio is empty-)

Just drag & Drop the Vobs, Bup, ifo 's in the Video_TS folder and burn.

Making an image is a step that isn't necessary..

If you don't mind using an image-file, you can use DVDdecrypter for that, it has an ISO read and write function. It works perfectly !

First let me thank you for all the help.

The DVD-R`s I speak off are region and macrovision free and they were created by me using nero 5.9.9.9. The latest version, They were burned as a DVD video/UDF format.

I can then take the VIDEO_TS folder from my DVD-R and move it into the new VIDEO_TS folder and burn it. simple as that.
