Hello,

I have a rather unique problem. I've done several searches on sub-titles, and maestro but this problem just doesn't seem to come up.

I recently did the movie Amelie using Robshot's method. I loaded my encoded assets and audio (yes I did a dropdown for subtitles)
Everything works ok, I compile the DVD. The Subtitles work fine in
the ifoedit dvd player. However, when I burn the final dvd using
NERO 5.8.8.0, the subtitles don't work on my set top player.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Did the subtitles work using PowerDVD? How are you trying to turn them on?

i did not try it in power dvd. I burnt the disc. On my set top player, the subtitles just don't work.... I used IFOupdate to put the
main movie back with the other original files... (yes, without importing the "0" VOB file) I checked the files using ifoedit's player. I used the subtitle drop down box and it worked fine....
Then I burnt with Nero 5.8.8.0 as usuall. The movie, menu and extras
work great... but the subtitles just won't show up. I re-burnt the movie without extras and the subtitles show up fine. (authored in maestro) I don't know why ifoupdate makes the sub-titles disappear.

Well, thanks in advance people.

Sorry for stupid question. Did you import subtitles to DVD Maestro? Did you compile DVD with subtitles? Subtitles should be in vob file with video and audio, IMHO. If you compiled without them, so you will not have subtitles.

Yes I import the subtitles in maestro before compiling. As I have said, once using ifoupdate I have a directory <4.7 gig... it plays fine in ifo-edit's movie player (subtitles and all) But after burning,
they do not show up... strange.
