disabling menu buttons

can someone explain me how to disable a menu button or give me a link to a guide?

i read somewhere that it's possible with vobedit.. but i dont know how to do it..

I too would also like to know how this is done , guide for us new to this would help alot , re authoring the menus seems a lot , when just disable the " extras " button or " subs " in the menu vob , on the original menu is all that is required.

Perhaps those who have done this can give a quick review of the steps required

Also i like thank those of you who help make the excellent guides and tools that i am just starting to get the useage

I don't actually want to disable a button but change what it does.

I've a certain dvd where selecting the directors commentary didn't work from the menu. However I've managed to fix that.

But it also is supposed to show a subtitle track identifying who is speaking during the commentary. Now since I don't have access to this track just the english language subtitles it displays those instead. I'd like to change it so it just plays the commentary and doesn't show ANY subtitles.

I think I'm right in thinking this should be possible with Ifoedit just not sure how to go about it.

If it is possible even a hint as to where to start would be appreciated.

Ok I see it's VobEdit I need, unfortunately I'm totally lost with it.

Try this guide out. Also you can try MenuEdit a small program from Dimad, which is basically the same process just alot faster !!!!(automated) unless you just want to play around with Vobedit and the hex editor
