Hello Everyone,

Being new here, First off let me say that I Love the site, and Appreciate you all sharing your vast knowledge in something so complex

I have been looking for a way to get miles of my kids VHS onto optical storage for 2 years now.
DVDr/ram DVD+r DVD-r, DVD+rw (Reminds me of the BETA / VHS thing of the early 80's)

I Picked BETA.... :) It is a better format, Better picture, C load Verses M load, More data per inch...Etc..Etc

So for the time being, I'll wait another year?
I love the DVDr/Ram drive because of the 9.4 gig backup ability, 2 drives in one, But then the +RW drives started showing up now I'm scared to buy a drive.
It's not the money, It's backing up a lifetime of video on the wrong format that scares me

Anyway, A year ago I bought Apex AD-1500, Loaded the Apex/Hiteker AD-1000 bios and love the machine, It Plays Everything!

I have been using TMPGE & Ulead software & Nero for SVCD, And put all our digital pictures on a Menued VCD slideshow with Ulead

About 2 weeks ago I started reading here and was able to backup my copy of Queen of the Damned, with DVD2SVCD, Looks Great! Thanks!

I Have 3 Questions:

#1 Using DVD2SVCD is there a way to add some video before the DVD you are backing up?
I heard someone in a post say to just use the Title Picture Option and pick Mpg instead of a Bmp, But that didn't work
I even tried replacing the "TitlePicture.bmp.mpg" (After it was Converted into a Mpg) With an Mpg, But TMPGE stopped with an error

#2 When DVD2SVCD says "16:9 (borders added, encoded as 4.3)" Is that because SVCD NTSC is 480 X 480 and 16:9 is 720 X 480 ?
If so, Will an Apex AD 1500 play a "SVCD" encoded with TMPGE at 16:9 (720 X 480) ?
We will be getting a widescreen this spring, And I don't want to have to do these backup's again

Should I just buy a DVD Burner?

#3 Using Queen of the Damned as an example, How would I get DVD2SVCD to load the IFO for what WinDVD Calls Titles 6 through 11, They are 6 Music Video's
I tried loading other IFO's but can't seem to find the 6 Titles

I really like DVD2SVCD, It's a Great frontend, But some of the things I've thought of doing I think must be done manually, At 43 years old with 3 kids it's hard to find the time to
learn another complex thing in my life.... Going to be a long haul...

Thanks

Joe
