OK. I tried the new LanczosResize (for testing on the version clip).
I wanted to attach the screenshots, but they are too big; but it's not hard to give these scripts a short try:
LanczosResize(Version,500,500)
BicubicResize(Version,500,500)
You could use any other high contrast material (anime).
You can see that heavy sharpening artefacts (you know that, if you ever used the photoshop sharpening effects at very high level).
OK the image is upscaled so the impact is not that much as here on normal material. Nevertheless I don't think that Lanczos is that much better than bicubic.
