For those of you who experienced this unfunny behavior of the nice beta from M$oft, I have found this quick and dirty solution.
PROBLEM: let's say that you occasionally decide that you want to close the "Control" window by hitting the "X" on the upper right - you know, that fancy progress bar (the most detailed one) with those unuseful greyed pushbuttons named "Start - Pause - Stop", which btw we never use for ripping since they're meant for Broadcasting.
Well - after having closed it you !repent!, and you just want it back.
I found NO WAY to have it enabled with the standard application menu, try to find it if you can under the View Menu, or hidden in some other place - impossible! (to me, at least).
SOLUTION: just open regedit and add a new Key named "Control" under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Media Tools\Encoder\App\Properties\View", and set its default value to "1". Job done!
CLOSING COMMENT: at least, it was a "problem" for me... if you have a cooler suggestion, you're more than Welcome!
