Get VTS Sectors bug

Some movies when i do Get VTS sectors it changes the VTSM_VOBS start sector and when i play the movie it always give the illegal navigation error.
It happen´s when the sector is originally 0 and change to another.
If i put 0 in this parameter iy plays normally again.
Is it a ifoedit problem or is it the original IFO already bad ?? But it play on DVD players !!!

Are you saying if you click get vob sectors & save that it won't play in stand alone DVD player after burning, because I've been doing that.

Maybe that why my disks won't play past 55 Minutes, but play
fine in the computer.....!

No, it's not a bug.

I discovered some troubles now too, for that special case.
We have a big problem, if there's a Menu-VOB file existing, but no Menu-tables in the IFO file!

In such cases I discoverd following problems:

1: If I set the VTSM_VOBS start sector to a correct value, IfoEdits DVD player will report 'Illegal Navigation'. But the burned DVD will play properly in a settop player.

2: If I set the VTSM_VOBS start sector to 0, my burning-tool "Vob Instant v6.4" will hang up while burning.

Future versions of IfoEdit will now throw a notification box in such a case, telling you to delete the Menu-VOB file, and to redo a 'Get VTS Sectors'.
It's the only solution right now.

The start sector on my DVD backups range from 27 to 30 does this sound correct to you....

I was having a problem on my first couple of backups because of clicking get vob sectors befor stripping streems & vob ID's and clicking get vob sectors again after stripping, then saving them.

these steps caused DVD to crash at about 55 minuters in settop box

The fix in my case was not to get sectors untill stripping was done & then saving them.

So if I leave start sector set to 0 the disk will be A coster yes or no?

It doesn't matter if you have used it before!
You can use it when ever you want. It won't do anything wrong.

The only one important thing is, that you use it right before burning.
This final usage will make sure, that all start-sectors are correct.

One hint though:
If you already have burned your DVD-R, and you are not sure if you did a 'Get VTS Sectros' or not, simply open any IFO file on the DVD-R with IfoEdit, and press 'Get VTS Sectors' again.

If the dialogs display now, that some start-sector-addresses have been changed, then you forgot to use this button right before burning.
If it doesn't display any changes, everything is fine, and this disc should play properly.

But for your case Crow, I guess you have a prob with cheap DVD-R media, like we have it all.
I suggest to use Pioneer or Verbatim DVD-R media only for Movie-DVDs
